Paritua Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is crafted by Paritua Wines in Hawke’s Bay, drawn from a low-yielding estate site that consistently delivers structure and concentration. This is a composed and authoritative Cabernet Sauvignon, opening with aromas of blackcurrant, dark plum and cassis, layered with cedar, graphite, dried herbs and subtle spice. The palate is medium to full bodied and firmly structured, showing fine-grained tannins, balanced acidity and impressive depth without heaviness. Concentrated dark fruit is supported by savoury complexity, seamlessly integrated oak and a persistent mineral backbone that shapes the long, confident finish. The style is classic and restrained, allowing varietal purity and vineyard character to lead. The 2021 vintage received 95 points from Bob Campbell MW, reinforcing its pedigree and cellar appeal. Approachable with decanting, Paritua Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon will reward careful cellaring over the next ten to fifteen years, gaining further nuance and harmony with time.

“Opaque and concentrated hues of dark purple with a ruby and bright purple rim. Aromas of ripeness and concentration, dark berries and barrel smoke, lots of earth and stone then violets and sweet tobacco. Dry, full-bodied power and youthful tension as the wine touches the palate. Flavours of vanilla and clove then blackberry and dark plum, some savoury spice highlights, violets and plum paste. Tannins have firmness as well as polish, acidity has power offering contrast to the fruit concentration. Well made, dry and lengthy. Delicious with best drinking from 2027 through 2034+.”

Our vineyard is in the heart of the acclaimed Bridge Pa Triangle wine region of Hawke’s Bay, on New Zealand’s North Island. The site is all gravel soils and gentle contours, surrounded by hills and blessed with long, lingering summers and clear, crisp winters… exceptional conditions to create exceptional wines.

The name Paritua is a tribute to the Paritua Stream, which meanders gently through the vineyard. Paritua means the meandering stream above the ancient river. The vineyard is planted over the historical riverbed of the nearby Ngaruroro River which flowed through pre the 1860s earthquake. It is a name that also acknowledges the connection with the land and the people of New Zealand.

Wines bearing our boutique label Paritua are produced only in outstanding vintages, whilst our Stone Paddock selection of wines are made every year. Every bottle of Paritua wine comes from grapes grown on this special, single vineyard, organically farmed site.
