$210.00

Trinity Hill The Gimblett 2021 is crafted by Trinity Hill in Hawke’s Bay, sourced from the renowned Gimblett Gravels where free-draining soils and warm conditions deliver structure and depth. This is a confident and classically styled red blend, opening with aromas of blackcurrant, dark plum and blackberry, layered with cedar, graphite, dried herbs and subtle violet. The palate is medium to full bodied and firmly structured, showing concentrated dark fruit framed by fine, polished tannins and fresh acidity that brings balance and length. Savoury notes, integrated oak and a distinct mineral core reflect the gravel soils and careful winemaking. The style is powerful yet composed, built for longevity rather than immediacy. The 2021 vintage has received high critical acclaim, with scores around 95 points and multiple gold medals, reinforcing its flagship status. Drinking well with decanting, Trinity Hill The Gimblett will continue to evolve gracefully over the next eight to twelve years.

About Trinity Hill Wines

Trinity Hill Wines is a distinguished New Zealand producer based in the sub-region of Gimblett Gravels in Hawke’s Bay. Founded in 1993, the estate was among the first to recognise the potential of these free-draining gravel soils, planting vines on what had been a barren riverbed, a terroir that today yields wines of depth, concentration and site-specific expression.

Their vineyards span multiple parcels across Gimblett Gravels and wider Hawke’s Bay, where warm, sun-drenched summers and well-draining soils favour ripening of red classics (Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot) as well as refined whites (Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc).

Winemaking at Trinity Hill aims to showcase terroir and varietal character: controlled yields, careful fruit selection, and site-focused blending. The result is a portfolio defined by elegance, balance, purity and consistency, wines that combine New Zealand vibrancy with old-world structure.

Trinity Hill wines are celebrated for being food-friendly, versatile, and capable of both early enjoyment and graceful ageing, from approachable whites to structured red blends and benchmark Syrah.

Hancocks

The Hancocks name traces its origins back to 1859 when Thomas Hancock purchased the Captain Cook Inn in Khyber Pass Road Newmarket. Hancocks originally started life as a brewer and publican.

The company went through many changes in its first 100 years, including the manufacture and distribution of spirits. Over the course of years the company changed names several times with the core of the company being the basis of what we now know as Lion.
