Prosper Maufoux Chablis 2024, crafted by Burgundy’s respected Maison Prosper Maufoux, showcases classic Chardonnay from Chablis in northern Burgundy, France. The nose offers vibrant citrus, ripe stone fruit and delicate floral notes. On the palate, fresh acidity and a supple texture are beautifully balanced by a distinctly mineral character, finishing with elegant saline nuances. Aged for 10 months on fine lees in stainless steel, it retains purity, freshness and finesse. A polished, versatile white, it pairs superbly with oysters, shellfish, fresh seafood and sushi. A refined expression of Chablis, ideal for lovers of crisp, mineral-driven Chardonnay.

About Prosper Maufoux Wines

Once owned by the Countess of Trébon, a descendant of one of King Louis XIV’s musketeers, the Château offers its guests over  300 years of Burgundy history . This building, along with the Maison Prosper Maufoux, is now owned by the Piffaut family , custodians of a  two-hundred-year-old family winemaking tradition  in Burgundy.

Located south of Beaune, in the heart of the Route des Grands Crus , the Prosper Maufoux wine estate extends around the Château de Saint-Aubin. It is a unique stop on the famous Côte des Blancs.

Its 9 hectares of vines, mostly planted with Chardonnay, are managed using sustainable and responsible viticulture .

The Clos du Château, classified as Saint-Aubin Premier Cru , and the adjoining plots of the Domaine, bring together terroirs of excellence that give rise to exceptional wines.

Hancocks

The Hancocks name traces its origins back to 1859 when Thomas Hancock purchased the Captain Cook Inn in Khyber Pass Road Newmarket. Hancocks originally started life as a brewer and publican.

The company went through many changes in its first 100 years, including the manufacture and distribution of spirits. Over the course of years the company changed names several times with the core of the company being the basis of what we now know as Lion.
