Paritua Stone Paddock Scarlet 2023 is crafted by Paritua Wines in Hawke’s Bay, sourced from the Stone Paddock vineyard where free-draining soils and warm conditions deliver purity and balance. This is a vibrant and contemporary red blend, opening with aromas of red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, layered with subtle floral notes, dried herbs and gentle spice. The palate is medium bodied and supple, showing bright acidity and fine tannins that give freshness and easy flow. Red fruit flavours are supported by light savoury complexity, restrained oak and a quiet mineral thread through the finish. The style is polished yet approachable, designed for drinkability without losing structure or detail. The 2023 vintage received 92 points from Bob Campbell MW, highlighting its balance and appeal. Paritua Stone Paddock Scarlet is drinking beautifully now and is well suited to enjoyment over the next three to five years.

About Paritua Wines

Our vineyard is in the heart of the acclaimed Bridge Pa Triangle wine region of Hawke’s Bay, on New Zealand’s North Island. The site is all gravel soils and gentle contours, surrounded by hills and blessed with long, lingering summers and clear, crisp winters… exceptional conditions to create exceptional wines.

The name Paritua is a tribute to the Paritua Stream, which meanders gently through the vineyard. Paritua means the meandering stream above the ancient river. The vineyard is planted over the historical riverbed of the nearby Ngaruroro River which flowed through pre the 1860s earthquake. It is a name that also acknowledges the connection with the land and the people of New Zealand.

Wines bearing our boutique label Paritua are produced only in outstanding vintages, whilst our Stone Paddock selection of wines are made every year. Every bottle of Paritua wine comes from grapes grown on this special, single vineyard, organically farmed site.
