Paritua 21·12’ 2021 is crafted by Paritua Wines in Hawke’s Bay, drawn from the estate’s finest single vineyard block and released only in exceptional vintages. This is a refined and powerful Bordeaux-style blend that showcases depth, precision and poise. Aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry and blueberry lead, layered with graphite, cedar, dried herbs and subtle spice. The palate is medium to full bodied and impeccably structured, showing concentrated dark fruit framed by fine, polished tannins and balanced acidity. Savoury complexity, seamlessly integrated oak and a distinct mineral core carry through the long, composed finish. The wine is authoritative yet restrained, allowing vineyard expression and structure to take centre stage. The 2021 vintage received 97 points from Bob Campbell MW, underscoring its status as one of Hawke’s Bay’s leading fine wines. Approachable with decanting, Paritua 21·12’ will cellar gracefully for fifteen years or more, gaining complexity and harmony over time.

A fantastic wine with concentration, complexity, power and presence. Flavours of dark berries, dark plums, cacao and toasty baking spices from wood and bottle settling harmony. A dry full-bodied wine with an equal amount of power and complexity framing the flavours of dark red berries and plums, cinnamon and vanilla, clove and baking spices. An abundance of tannins are polished and along with the acidity frame the fruit and mouthfeel perfectly.”

About Paritua Wines

Our vineyard is in the heart of the acclaimed Bridge Pa Triangle wine region of Hawke’s Bay, on New Zealand’s North Island. The site is all gravel soils and gentle contours, surrounded by hills and blessed with long, lingering summers and clear, crisp winters… exceptional conditions to create exceptional wines.

The name Paritua is a tribute to the Paritua Stream, which meanders gently through the vineyard. Paritua means the meandering stream above the ancient river. The vineyard is planted over the historical riverbed of the nearby Ngaruroro River which flowed through pre the 1860s earthquake. It is a name that also acknowledges the connection with the land and the people of New Zealand.

Wines bearing our boutique label Paritua are produced only in outstanding vintages, whilst our Stone Paddock selection of wines are made every year. Every bottle of Paritua wine comes from grapes grown on this special, single vineyard, organically farmed site.
