Yalumba The Octavius Shiraz 2019 is a flagship Barossa Shiraz made from fruit selected across five vineyards, with 55% Eden Valley and 45% Barossa Valley Shiraz. The 2019 release offers aromas of dark plum, black cherry and blackberry with vanilla, spice, chocolate, black pepper and praline. The palate is rich and balanced, with blackberry, blackcurrant and sage, followed by ginger, roasted nuts and fine chocolatey tannins. It was matured for 19 months in French oak, including 25% new hogsheads and barriques, with the balance in older French oak.

Jane Anson notes dark chocolate, rosemary and olive pit, with a tar and campfire smoke finish.
