Man O’ War Valhalla Chardonnay 2024 is a focused, coastal Chardonnay from Waiheke Island. Tight, flinty aromas of struck match, white grapefruit, lemon pith and crushed seashell meet subtle orchard blossom and grilled peach. The palate is taut and direct, with citrus and green stone fruit carried by firm acidity. No malolactic fermentation or lees stirring preserves its lean, chiselled texture, while oak adds quiet structure. Long, saline and refreshingly austere, it is precise and site-driven. Richard Caro awarded the 2024 vintage 94 points.
