Hammeken Gotas de Mar Godello 2023 is produced by Hammeken Cellars in north-west Spain, drawing on high-altitude vineyards influenced by Atlantic freshness to highlight the variety’s natural tension and texture. This is a focused and elegant Godello, opening with aromas of pear, green apple and citrus peel, layered with subtle white floral notes and a gentle saline lift. The palate is medium bodied and finely structured, showing ripe orchard fruit balanced by crisp acidity and a distinctive mineral line that brings drive and length. A lightly creamy texture adds depth without weight, allowing freshness and clarity to remain at the forefront. The style is poised and food friendly, favouring precision over richness. Hammeken Gotas de Mar Godello is drinking very well on release and will continue to develop added texture and complexity over the next three to five years, making it an excellent expression of modern Atlantic-influenced Spanish white wine.

About Hammeken Wines

Nicholas Hammeken’s early interest for wine has lead him to dedicate his career and life to his passion. After finishing his studies in Copenhagen, he collaborated in sales and marketing roles within the wine industry, in France, Germany and the UK.

In 1996 Nicholas decided to start his own venture and so Hammeken Cellars – formerly Vinnico Export – was born. Initially conceived as a non branded wine trader, their first own wine collection, Montgó, was launched in 2001. Ever since, the company has seen the succcess of other brands such as Piquitos, Allegranza, Creencia, Gotas de Mar, Pasas or Radio Boka, to name a few. In March 2014, Hammeken Cellars opened a branch overseas, from which it is conquering the US market. In the last years, the company has experienced double digit growth in sales, as well as in employees. Currently Hammeken Cellars one of the most important Spanish wine exporters +1.8 million cases of Spanish wines a year, and is present in +37 countries.
