Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc 2024, from Greywacke in Marlborough, New Zealand, delivers a striking yet refined take on the region’s signature white. Aromas of pink grapefruit, elderflower, lemongrass and tropical fruits mingle with hints of snow pea and herbal freshness. On the palate it shows vibrant citrus zest, lime and passionfruit, balanced by lively acidity and a sleek, saline-tinged mineral finish. The wine is textured but crisp, with a focused mid-palate richness and a long, dry finale that highlights its freshness and complexity. The 2024 vintage garnered 95 points from one critic and mid-90s from others. Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc 2024 is elegant, expressive and ideal with shellfish, goat cheese or light summer dishes. ABV 13.5 percent, screw-cap closure.

About Greywacke Wines

Greywacke  is the Marlborough label of the Judd family and the name of New Zealand’s most abundant bedrock. These understated grey river stones are found throughout Marlborough’s rivers and alluvial vineyard soils. Established in 2009, Greywacke is truly a family affair and while the company now exports its wines all over the world, the ethos is very much ‘keep it simple and hands-on’ with a small, dedicated team running the company from Greywacke HQ in the heart of Marlborough’s Omaka Valley. The fruit is sourced from mature vineyards in prime viticultural sites to optimise the potential afforded by Marlborough’s sunny South Pacific climate.

A stroll through an island rainforest is the best way to describe this wine. A canopy of elderflower blooms, green apple, and mangosteen flesh opens the experience, while the variety’s flourishing, leafy qualities sit at its heart in the most enticing way. Notes of cut lime, papaya skin and aloe gel weave through. The palate builds with each sip – a touch of self-raising flour mealiness, a hint of lemon-butter creaminess, all carried in an overall dry style that both quenches and intrigues. Its natural arch of acidity drives the wine forward, underpinned by a low hum of power and a full force of flavour. Best enjoyed in a wide glass, to capture its full effect.” Drink 2025 – 2029
